Dear Amazon Web Services Developer,
We are writing to announce that the AWS 4.0 beta will soon be ending. During the next week, we will send you details on the official launch of AWS 4.0.
We would like to thank you for your contributions to and participation in the AWS 4.0 beta test. Your use of the service and your feedback has been invaluable in helping us identify bugs, improve the AWS 4.0 API, and create a better experience for our entire developer community.
Here are some important steps you must take to prepare your applications for the transition from beta to general availability.
1) Service Name change: You will need to modify the Service Name parameter in your application from AWSProductData to AWSECommerceService. We realize that it may take some time to implement this change in your applications. In order to make this transition as easy as possible, we will continue supporting AWSProductData for a short time.
2) REST/WSDL Endpoints: You will need to modify your application to connect to webservices.amazon.com instead of aws-beta.amazon.com. For other locales, the new endpoints are webservices.amazon.co.uk, webservices.amazon.de and webservices.amazon.co.jp.
3) Naming: You no longer need to label your AWS 4.0 applications “beta," and you may now release any applications built on top of AWS 4.0.
